Investment in Sojitz’s Ship Trading Business

SHOEI KISEN KAISHA, LTD. has signed a share transfer agreement with Sojitz Corporation to acquire shares in Sojitz Senpaku Corporation, which was established following the corporate split of Sojitz’s ship trading business.

 

Together with ORIX Corporation and Sojitz Corporation, SHOEI KISEN will invest in Sojitz Senpaku and support the business model developed by the company to date. Additionally, Sojitz Senpaku will be renamed “Somec Corporation”.

 

Sojitz Group has been engaged in the ship trading business for over 70 years and currently operates a wide range of services, including chartering brokerage, newbuild and second-hand ship trading brokerage. The Group’s strengths lie in its extensive international business network, with offices in Tokyo, Imabari, London, Athens, and Shanghai, as well as its highly specialized human resources.
