Cutting-Edge LNG-Fueled Car Carrier Vessel has Completed
On November 20, M.V. LAPIS ACE, a cutting-edge LNG fueled car carrier specialized vessel, cheater by MOL was completed at Imabari Shipbuilding Group’s Tadotsu Shipyard Co, LTD.
This vessel operates using clean, environmentally friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel and is equipped with a highly efficient high-pressure dual-fuel engine. It is a cutting-edge vessel designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in international shipping and contribute to a sustainable future.
The vessel will be deployed on the Japan-Europe route to support the global logistics.
【Features】
□Environmental Compliance
Compared to conventional fuel oil-powered vessels, the new vessel achieved a 25-30% reduction in CO₂ emissions. It also nearly eliminated SOx emissions, a major cause of air pollution, and reduced NOx emissions by 80-90% through the use of an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system.
□BOG processing
The LNG fuel tanks continuously generate BOG (Boil-Off Gas), which can be utilized in the generators and boilers, enhancing the vessel’s environmental friendliness.
□Lamp in the vessel is installed
By adopting a bulkhead-less structure and arranging a wider, linear ramp compared to conventional designs, the vehicle travel path is made simpler and easier to understand, improving safety and cargo handling efficiency.
